As a creative, witnessing the mounds of websites stuffed into single graphics with too many icons (also called “ai slop”) is an especially interesting experience.
However I know this “AI revolution” isn’t unique to my industry or my existence, far from it. Watching content creators of all types get everything from their creations to their faces stolen is… well, in the words of brenda from scary movie “some scurry shxt!”
There’s so much practical usage when it comes to using these tools. But the fact that Generative AI can be used to steal so easily doesn’t sit right with me. neither does the lack of empathy most people seem to have unless it affects their industry, life or neighborhood directly.
I guess I’ve never considered myself a full fledged content creator but I’d be lying if i said this dystopian ish doesn’t make me want to bury my head fully into the sand sometimes. is it just me?
hmm… a positive note. I’m celebrating the progress and ways technology is improving my career & life. I don’t downplay the benefits but I keep my usage conservative (and my gen ai usage not at all) while still praying for some regulation in what is lowkey feeling like the environmental wild wild west.
